It is amazing how sometimes things just fall into place and this website is no last minute creation but in fact it has been in creation for many years but sometimes we just do not see the signs.
In 1998, a very dear friend and at the time a minister for a spiritual church gave me the name Raskimon, which in sanskrit means humanitarian.
The name stayed with me all these years and once I was back from Kenya and started thinking about creating a website, I did not have to think of a name for Raskimon is what this website is about.
Having travelled to India and seen the poverty there and of course spending time at Njaaga’s orphanage in Kenya, has allowed me to experience life away from the so called “lucky country”.
To be lucky is to experience both the sun and the rain!
My visit to Kenya has given me more than I have given the country and by creating raskimon.com I hope to give something back.
Projects such as raising the wall around the water well where the children get water from, giving something back to Joseph’s mama for her kindness, buying clothes for the orphans of kenya, employing a local man to teach the children at Njaaga's child hope home how to grow their own vegies and of course helping my dear friend Nawang Zopa.
A refugee budhist monk from Tibet now residing at Shelkar monastery in Nepal.
Raskimon is about humanity, laughter, it is about the sunshine and the much needed rain, the droplets of dew on a winter’s morning,
Raskimon is just simply about life!!
Thank you and I leave you with this thought....
If the planet Earth ceases to be so will the human race, if the human race ceases to be, the planet will keep on living.
we owe it, big time!! |
